Need clarification on infractions and how to post

I am posting for services needed and I'm a little confused on the infraction system.

Today I have been given 2 infractions for my post - Forum Posters Wanted For Webmaster, Web Design, Web Marketing Forum.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1660300 and the other has been deleted

Yes, they are on the same topic, but on the first one I did not realize that your forum had a time limit on editing the topic and I had added "MAX AMOUNT OF POSTERS ALREADY REPLIED. I WILL REOPEN THIS IN A FEW DAYS. THANKS! PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS FOR NOW" to the top of the post. Now I can no longer edit it . I would of reused that thread, but there is no way to edit the post, so I started a new one. If I just bumped the old post about it being reopend most users probably wouldn't of noticed it.

I don't understand why that received an infraction. Furthermore if I was able to delete the old post I would of done that.

How should I handle this in the future.

Technically the only thing that was a duplicate was the title.

Even the content in the post was different. Is there some mod you have that is looking for duplicates? If someone would of looked at the posts they would of realized that they were not the same.

Sad to tell you, but asking for reason behind infractions may attract you more infractions..
I am just 7 days old in this forum, but getting those infractions forced me to review the whole terms and conditions and FAQs once again !!

I don't see any difference between all those threads. Your service requirement are just the same.

Use the report post button when you see a duplicate threads.

Different words do not mean it's not a duplicate thread. If it's for the same product / service, it's a duplicate thread.

    @Dynashox

Except that there is a big BOLD statement at the top that says: "MAX AMOUNT OF POSTERS ALREADY REPLIED. I WILL REOPEN THIS IN A FEW DAYS. THANKS! PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS FOR NOW"

And the majority of people see that and do not reply. Hence why I wanted to create a new thread.

I totally get it, but I was a retard and didn't realize that I would only be able to edit for 8 hours when I edited it. I now know this.. so is there a way to have one of the moderators delete the thread so I can start a new one without the"MAX AMOUNT OF POSTERS ALREADY REPLIED. I WILL REOPEN THIS IN A FEW DAYS. THANKS! PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS FOR NOW" at the top?

It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

We don't edit posts just because people didn't read the rules first. That's why we don't edit to remove links and domain names, email addresses people posted for themselves without thinking, etc. It's a huge forum, and making an exception in your case would mean we have to make an exception for everyone else who "didn't realize" something before they posted.

Just ask someone who already worked with you there to leave feedback in the thread if they didn't already. It will at least show people deals are still happening. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
