I have one domain name for travel portal (this is my main domain name for business) and also I registered the similar domain name for my main domain name and redirected that domain to my main domain name. But, I want to know the purpose of redirection and also I did the redirection through my hosting. SEO point of view is this enough? or I need to do some thing?
Folder redirection is an accessibility feature, not a backup feature. The way it works is that your files' primary location is on the server, but you keep an offline copy locally on your computer. In a backup scenario this is no good. If a user is online while accidentally deleting a file or making a change then the deletion/change is replicated to the offline folder. Although in some cases you may be lucky and restore something from the offline version, consider this just luck and nothing to rely upon. If what you want is backup then you can still use folder redirection for the purpose of having just one file-location to make a proper backup from, thereby simplifying the real backup. The backup itself should be done with a dedicated tool. Another solution is to set up a backup job on each computer that creates a backup placed on your file server. Windows 7 has a built-in tool that will work for your small environment and there is also a version present in XP and Vista.
If I were you, I would never put such redirect... Reason? This is not gonna give any benefit. Redirection is beneficial with domains that possess PR or some reputed backlinks or some reputation in Google's eye. Otherwise such a redirection is utter waste of time.
