Hi, I'm new to bum marketing and am just about to get started in it. One thing though, I heard you're not allowed to put your hop link in your article on ezinearticles, is that true? What's the best type of landing page to use?

Ah, crap! I didn't know about affiliate links at Ezine. I posted many articles there including my affiliate link, so probably they will be declined. So how can use Ezines for affiliate marketing?

Just link your articles to a Squidoo lens or Blogger. They can have links in them :)

You can also get away with doing a redirect from a page on your own site or blog directly to the merchants sales page. Only downside of this is you won't be able to capture the email address for further use, and also sometimes a landing page does a better job of pre-selling than a direct link to the sales page.

They let you do re-direct? Also is CB allow Iframe?

Ezine article is strict and not allow you use subdomain or domain.com/subdirectory when linking to your site so it's kinda suck.

It's true and you need to use top level domain. You can do squidoo and link to that but conversions drop. You can do an iframe redirect and if you read other threads others think that is ok because everyone else is doing it even though it is against CB TOS and you could loose your account. If your serious about a product spend the 10 bucks or less for an addon domain and promote it on a squeeze page for best conversions. You know it would really suck loosing 1/2 your sales even if it was 2 sales a day that gave you 100 bucks just because you were too cheap to buy an 10 buck addon domain for the year. Something to consider. :D

Ok, thanks guys. On the landing page, would it be best to set up a free newsletter thingy to capture more potential buyers, how would I go about setting one up on my own domain?

Ok, done some research. Aweber looks pretty good but I would like to know if anyone knows of a free or cheaper alternative to Aweber?

That's odd. Every one of my approved articles has a subdomain or subdirectory in it.

Hmm, but with squidoo you can't add a free newsletter to capture more potential buyers.

You can still refer to your affiliate links. HOW????

    a. be crafty as heck with PHP

    For the www.domain.com url
    b. use the $HTTP_REFERER global to detect the referring source.
    c. explode the $HTTP_REFERER string to get it down to the uri (ezinearticles.com)
    d. Then through another series of explodes, source the ezinearticles.com article id(numeric) on the url. "id=34523452"

    e. take that number and make it a variable. create an array with this number, and the value being the affiliate link. You can also do this in mysql as well that is of course if you are good at mysql programming.

    f. fetch the affiliate url, then either do a header("location: http://this ") or a javascript window.location.

    g. Want me to get into more detail about this? some php programmers do already know how to do this.

    h. That is how to circumvent the issue with ezinearticles.com

I was(am) using a frame page for my hoplink. But I hear that is forbidden. I was planning on using a subdomain but am I correct in understanding that is out now too?

Luckily I have a Squidoo page!

If you buy a domain name and use it to cloak your hop link, would ezinearticles allow it?

If you take a domain and redirect it to your hoplink, Ezine will accept that. Ezine allows only top level domains, for example www.abc123.com

    No subdomains or subdirectories allowed.
