    Yeaah..
    I dont think Blogger allows you to add it manually :( you need to have a 3-Column Template for that purpose :(

    thank you for the help suicidalsam for the great advise. I got a good feel for how it works. What i did was copy and paste the code for sidebar and renamed it newsidebar. after evening out the margins and ajusting the sidebar stuff its up and running. Thanks again
