I am a member of a search and rescue team and i am looking for someone to help us develop an app to bring our training logs up to the level of current technologies. basically it works like this. i have 3 dogs that i train every other week. training consists of having a person start from a designated point and walk sometimes several miles to a hiding spot. we then put the dog on the track and locate the person. once we have completed the track we have to log it in our books for future reference and in the event we get called into court to show the dog is properly trained and capable. currently we have a printed form we fill out by hand by drawing pictures showing the track and inputting weather conditions along with notes and any other important information. i would like to have an app to make the process easier. the majority of us volunteer our time and pay for pretty much everything we do out of our pockets, if someone would be interested in developing this app for us all we would ask is that we get it for free along with updates other then that you can do what you want with it. we have 10+ dogs in our group and this would really help us maintain our records. if anyone is interested please email me and i will share my ideas. thanks
Look into Google Docs. It's free, and you can keep your logs and pictures online, available from your computer, smartphone, anything that can get on the internet.

And you want someone to develop this for free? I suppose, if you find someone dying of boredom. But this isn't a trivial app, it's going to take a bit of work, so most people will want to get paid for it. Even assuming that you all use iPhones, or you all use Android phones (you'll need some smartphone to do the GPS and emailing) it's not trivial. If you want it to work on both it's almost twice the work.
i understand the complexity of this, i am involved in the technical world. this is above my means as i do not have sufficient coding experience to do this on my own otherwise i would be well on my way to doing so. i would be more then happy to dive in and start learning along the way it really is a matter of how much time will it take for me to gain the knowledge i need to achieve the goal and it would take a significant amount of time.that is why i am willing to let someone else have it if they build it. there may be able to get some money out of it there are alot of people like me that are involved in search and rescue and if you can give them an easy way to maintain thier log books they will spend the money.
