Hi, I'm trying to come up with a new name for my corporation. I thought of a few: Skakun(my last name) Technologies inc. or just Skakun inc. or SkaCal Technologies(Skakun + Calgary) People may pronounce it differently, E.I. I pronouce it with a A as in ABC and lots of people I know pronounce it A as in AT. My company is going to do Web Design/Development and Software Development. I'm also open to new technologies, thus the use of the word: Technologies. what do you think? any suggestions? I want to know what the general public thinks of when they hear the word Skakun. You can learn more about my company here: http://dmscomputers.ca/
Skakun does not sound very nice, but I dont think it needs to. You have to have faith in the name and anything is possible. Microsoft is not a very creative company name, but things happen...
At first I thought it would sound like Skankin. But after seeing some of the stupid multi-millionare companies with names like Powergenitallias, I feel ok with my own name
Thanks, I think I'll go with the name. I think it's proper enough name and at the same time really unique.
I think the key is to be original and your name has it. Just avoid the generic terms that everyone else seems to use. Having a good name that stands out might come off as fresh compared to the rest. Go for it and be proud of your name, it is branding after all.
I like the shakal tecnologies , but it should also relate to the nature of businesss not just family name
Just so you also know Skank in English means something else "Skank is a term of abuse for a person who may be repugnant for reasons of hygiene and/or promiscuity." Not to be a party pooper or anything.... Like the names otherwise
Thanks for the suggestions. I like SkaCal Technologies but I don't know if I feel comfortable with that one. I lean more toward Skakun. I don't really want to use skak or something like that because it kind of reminds people of the word skank, as mentioned earlier. Skakun sounds more like Skankn', as in Ska(Reggae realated) music, Jamaica... As for the other suggestions, thanks. I'll consider every one.
