To be blunt its quite bad for multiple reasons. The formatting, style, bulleting, white space. My recommendation is to get ahold of a webhosting template from templatemonster and edit that to your hearts content.
I really don't think it's bad appearance-wise, it's just very simple. The basic layout is fine, but seems like it's really just a starting point. I would just keep playing around with it, and make it more interesting, it's a little boring right now. Try doing some different things with the text-formatting. and spacing of things too, I think that can be improved a lot. I really don't think you need to start over with a whole new template, I like the round edges, and again, I think it's a good starting point.

I think you got abit carried away on the background image, the layout itself looks nice & simple although i would myself add a navigation part, just to make it look abit more eye-catching. I like the logo, it's unique. I just think abit more color on the layout & less color on the background. Thats my opinion though. Sarah.
