Need an answer related to Domain Name Law

So, I got royally screwed by a home construction company and I'm a vendictive SOB, I'll admit that.

I've just registered their construction name as a domain - xyzconstruction.com.

Now, I'm guessing I could lose ownership of that domain if they wanted it. But what if I register a DBA with my state which was named VERY close to the construction company name. Say, xyz Construction Site, or xyz Construction Information?

Anyone? These guys that screwed me need some exposure and future buyers need to be informed.

    Thanks :)

I believe It would actually be worse if you created the DBA

I think they call that "bad faith"

I ran into these problems back in 99, I recommend seeing if they will atleast give you reg. fee's for it :p

Yeah.. I'd get out of it..

    sorry

If you use the website to tell people about the company, it won't help you at all to have registered it as a trading name and it could well get given to them.

If you really must create such a site, I'd suggest you don't use their name either in the domain or in the name of the site,

I should also point out that if you attempt to sell them the domain that'll immediately demonstrate that you registered it with the intent of demanding money for it (whether you did or not), in which case they'll be awarded the domain and you won't get a penny.

If I was you, I'd drop the domain name immediately and register a new one relating to them sucking, e.g. xyzconstructionsucks.com. A domain like that is usually OK as long as you don't intend to profit in anyway, not even advertising, as you're only exercising freedom of speech. Unless the company admitted that they suck...
