I have never seen this before so hopefully someone can give me an answer. I have a site that I have been link building for a few months now showing in seoserp.com and in geoseo.com that it's ranked on the third page of google for a high volume keyword. Also keep in mind the site is only 5.5 months old and the niche difficulty rating is 65%. Both geoseo.com and seoserp.com are reporting it on the third page but when I actually perform a search in google it shows the site on page 25. It's been doing this for weeks where it'll pop up on page 2 or 3 for the keyword and then disappear back to page 25 or so but now it's reporting a serp result that isn't true.. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN ???? Has this happened to you before ? If so what can I expect to see happen ? Thanks.
Simply rely on the search engine first, how can a tool ever be more accurate than the search engine when checking things like these.
There are a lot of factors that will make different computers and tools give different serp results - geography is the biggest one - results are tailored to match the location of your IP , then there are different data centres, cookies, personalised search...usually people see better - often much better - results on their own computer than they see from a third party tool, because of search history and cookies. If you're seeing worse, then I would suspect it's because one, other or both are showing geo-targeted results. EDIT - though having just tried a couple of things on that geoseo site, it does seem to be making it up as it goes along...
This happens all the time with new domains. Normally, it's a good sign that you will be permanently ranked there once you pay your dues as a new domain =)
no idea on how long this will keep doing this ? it's been doing it for weeks and it's just driving me nuts
Hi, often your exact ranking will vary. Keep building backlinks this is known as the Google dance and once it ends, if you're doing everything ok, ur site shud be in a gr8 position. So make sure you keep backlinking
