A few days ago I advertised for a cheap article writer. I needed 30 articles @ 500 words each. I received a Pm from someone that would do the job. He said he could not provide any sample articles. I said ok. I just received the first batch and they are written using very bad English and grammar. The articles are actually painful to read and are very boring. He still has 23 articles to write.

What should I do. Should I tell him to stop and pay him for the articles he has written or should I scrap him and not pay him at all. I feel like I have been ripped off because he said the articles would be good quality and they arnt. Also I think he should of given examples or at least warned me that he had bad english. He also said they would be completed within 2-3 days and it is nearly the 4th day and I have only got 7 articles from him.

I have found a website that offers article writing at similar prices and they have a good name. I am thinking I should not pay this guy and buy the articles off that website. Please give me opinions on what to do. What would YOU do?

Well I feel you should pay for the seven articles and cancel the rest.

Next time take a few samples and maybe start with a smaller lot of 3-5 articles. Later give a bigger order only if you are satisfied.

I have thought of this but the articles are absolute rubbish and it would affect how many articles I will buy with the next writer because I am on a limited budget.

I'm a writer that has gotten work before on the copywriting forum so maybe I can offer some advice. I don't know how much you were paying your writer but usually a good rule of thumb is that the cheapest offer isn't always the best if you are looking for dependability and quality of writing.

Also you should always ask for and get samples of the writer's work. All writers keep a portfolio of their past assignments and you should be able to get a good sense of whether their writing is up to your needs by reading a couple of past assignments.

If you don't feel good about continuing to work with your writer contact them immediately and cancel the order. There are plenty of good writers on Digital Point and you can begin the process again and consider this a learning experience. Good luck!

As a writer I would suggest you tell the guy that you are sorry, but it is not working. Unfortunately, if you want great writing you will not get it cheaply. However, there are some women I know that might give you a good deal, WAHM Writers.

if the articles are really bad, i wouldnt pay him for them and just cancel the order and explain your reasons and appologise to him. you cant be expected to pay for a service that was said to off been good quality and turned out rubbish.

If he can redo the 7 to your liking you should pay him, if he cant then I would just say sorry, i need better writing and go with the other company....
Or pay him half the money you would normally for 7 since i am assuming he did work on them?
    Good luck

I'm sorry, but I think that you should let him fix the seven and pay him, then cancel the rest of the order. You really should have asked for samples or have had him turn in one to prove that he could write. Live and learn though. Give him a chance to fix them and get another writer.

I certainly would not pay him. Tell him that you were paying him to write articles, and he can't write articles!
