    Hi DPs marketing experts!

I searched the forum for previous post regarding promoting/increasing traffic to your website but I'm still kinda lost.

We've just launched our site 5 days ago, and we'r trying our very best to increase our traffic. We got several nice comments on the site itself but still we find the traffic coming in still kinda low. (aint we impatient!)

We would really appreciate if anyone can guide us the proper way to promote our site to increase our traffic? For instance, if this is your own website and you just bring it online. What will you do beside updating the content daily to attract more traffic.

    Thanks and Kind regards

There is so many posts on this forum how to do that. For me it is really confusing sometimes. I an sure that you must have as much links to your site as you can, submit to every directory and search engine and it will eventually bring traffic to your site.

Here's Sultan_Emerrs Links to getting your site Registered with the Search Engines...

If you hope to get a load of returning visitors, you have to keep updating it with new things that make people want to keep going, and it's gotta look good. The better looking, the more people want to be affiliated with it. Also, make friends, and share links. Join web rings, give the links to your friends who are interested, and an interactive element like a message board, or such, will (if handled correctly) keep people coming back.

    1. Link to other pages, and have them link to you.

    2. Use relevant META tags for keywords and description

    3. Announce your website in many online forums (if Allowed or in your Signature File). Many sites frown on Posting about Personal Sites.

    4. Register your url with google and as many other search engines as possible.

    5. Update your site often to have repeat visistors.

    6. Add your url in your email signature.

    7. Do a search on google, then at the bottom of the page is "Disatisfied with results? Help us improve" link. Just fill out the info. and the spiders will go to your site.

    8. Add your url to your business card and pass them out.

Apart from all the methods outlined in the various posts, and Keith's excellent post above, most of your traffic will come from search engines. Its nearly always the case. That takes time unfortunately so you need to be a bit patient. If you have a good site and you do all the work suggested above...getting traffic is guaranteed eventually.

Do the ground work now and in 6 months you'll be rewarded...

It's going to take alot of effort on your part for awhile to *Build* a following...

Spend the spare time or most all the time you can now to do that and it will become what you what it to be...

It took us 5-years when I was in L.A. to build a *Real Company* and I have to tell ya it was worth all those long hours... Mainly just to say I was a part of it... :D

Do a Google search for Free Directories or Free Web Directories... Then start looking at them and see if they have a *Category* that your site fits and submit a link (Usually they require a Link on your site back to them), unless you wanna pay some company to do it for you, you are going to have to do some leg work... I did one hell of alot of leg work...

If you are new to this and have $10 to spare then you can pay somebody on the Buy, Sell and Trade sections of the forum.

They will submit to 100 directories on your behalf.

Go to http://www.articledashboard.com/ and take a look at all the articles people have submitted (for free) and see if you could do the same.

I will just lie down some of the easy and common ways you can recieve more traffic to your site:
    - Exchange links with other websites (Become affiliates - you should only exchange links with RELAVENT sites for targeted traffic)
    - Buy links from high Google PageRank relavent websites
    - Submit your site to directories. There's tons listed here at Digital Point, and all/most are free!
