Hi there, I hope someone can help me finding a good and fitting hostingcompany??

I am from the netherlands and I would like an in USA located hosting. So I found hostmonster. All went well until my account got suspended for using too much CPU. I analysed the cause and I noticed a SQL-select took 3 seconds. Not too bad I think because the table is 30 MB, a large table.

Anyway... where can I find a good hosting company that:
    • is flexible with the CPU usage, or at least doesnt suspend you right away
    • has CPANEL or similar
    • statistics, ftp, etc. etc.
    • accepts Paypal as payment type (without the creditcard verification)

A link to a good comparing / review website could be helpful also. I know my way around in the Netherlands, but USA is new terrain for me.

    thanks!

What did you intend or was hosting over at hostmonster that made them suspend you for CPU usage?

I do not really understand the question? I had no intend. The SQL-query took too long. The problem then, but I have read most hosting-companies do this because lack of time, was that they suspended the complete account.... all my sites of the air and not only the problem site.

Hosting is not over, I was a customer for just 3 months... so actualy still 9 months still to go.

I understand you cant have buggy scripts taking the whole CPU capacity. But this was the latest version of Wordpress. So it is not the scripts, it is the big database. And the next best upgrade with hostmonster is a dedicated server instead of shared.

[I have received some PM's, but more advice is welcome!]

Dutch: I will provide you hosting for your wordpress, but I recommend you to use a cache-plugin, because it helps to save a lot of CPU :). I just have a problem with a webpage ( www.diariosargentina.net), because the DB is of 60 mgs, but with wp super cache, all changed :)

    Just tell me =)

I guess they acted too hastily when suspending you then. Web hosts such as Hostmonster tend to be very sensitive when it comes to server cpu/memory usage. Why? Because they offer unrealistic plans. This only leads to OTHER users trying to abuse the server by TRYING to use the "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth.

It will probably be better to find a host that doesn't oversell or does not oversell as heavily, this way they will not be as sensitive and suspend you without any prior warning or notices.
