Hi - I am managing a decent size blog that gets a fair amount of traffic ~ 4000 uniques a month... and we have a decent number of syndicated bloggers that want to run their own section. So, we have: primary.com and we are thinking of using subdomains where syndicated writers can blog on those subdomains: sub1.primary.com sub2.primary.com sub3.primary.com The question is - do you think it is best to do an entirely different wordpress installation in the subdomains, or is it best to have a single wordpress installation for the primary domain and then set up other blogging areas in subdirectories (rather than subdomains) with different permissions? I am inclined to put in separate WP installations in separate subdomains because I think that would avoid one syndicated section from screwing up the whole blog.... but maybe I am missing some potential integration hassles. What do you think?
Always there is a better answer - thank you so much ProxyEffect! You know, its funny - i talked through it with a friend last night... and the separate WP installations on separate subdomains doesn't really make sense for a variety of reasons: 1. Multiple logins/passwords to manage 2. Messes up comment mgt continuity 3. Difficulties publishing the main blog on the sub-blogs and vice-versa with full blog features. so - i appreciate the input!
