I'm using AdWords to boost my site sales. But now that I have some experience with AdWords I'm thinking in use it to earn some additional cash.

What do you advice for me? Selling 3rd part Affiliates products like Amazon? Or doing some kind of consultant in AdWords for others?

I'm talking from Brazil and I'm using AdWords every day from 1 year now.

The more you can diversify the better off you'll be. Why not do both - affiliate revenue for yourself and a bit of consulting/campaign management for others. You can work the affiliate angle while building a client base.

I've found Amazon to be a nice test bed for new ideas. They have pretty much every product on the face of the earth so you won't be limited when testing different products/markets.

Also you can write and sell ebook or book about AdWords.
    Just my 2 cents.

    I'm intrigued.

Guy from Chicago, are you suggesting using adwords to send someone directly to Amazon with your affiliate referrer, or to a sales page on your site where you try to convert the prospect to a sale?

    Try both.

If you try to send people directly to Amazon you'll get less activity because of Google's affiliate rules - only one affiliate per serp. Amazon does have credibility with the average Internet user though so converting the sale may be a little easier.

You can send people to your own affilaite page and not have to worry about missing out on the impressions/clicks because you use amazon.com as your destination url, but, yourpage.com doesn't carry the same credibility as an established entity like Amazon.

Personally, I design my own page(s) to send people to so I can get an accurate gauge of the potential traffic and conversions. Depending on the outcome, I give sending them directly to Amazon (or affiliate of your choice) a spin as well. 9 times out of 10 I've found sending them to my affiliate page is the way to go. If nothing else you get to see what people do when they hit your site (via your analytics) which in and of itself can be very valuable in modifying your offer/pitch to increase conversions.

Me as well. GuyfromChicago, I don't suppose you'd be willing to to give an approximate conversion rate for direct affiliate links to Amazon in Adwords? Obviously it depends on the type of product you're advertising, but is it possible to get 10% C/R?

    With a ~5% referral-fee rate from Amazon, you'd need to get at least 10% C/R I'd think.
