Need advice to gain more traffic

Hi everybody,

I'm running a Fail Pictures website but I want to have more traffic. I have currently 2000 to 5000 UV per day and I'm sure I can reach a higher traffic. I just need some fresh ideas for promotion or any suggestion you can have. My website is Image fail It's a french website.

I would put a free translator on it http://www_microsofttranslator_com/widget/and set it to manual.

Probably the best thing for traffic would be to grab a few fail videos and edit the beginning with "Brought to you by youhavefailed_com" etc and put a link in the description.

You should get instant traffic from that.

Another way to get traffic is have two temporary yahoo accounts.

The first account asking "I have a collection of fail/funny pictures from a collection I recently found on an old CD, where can I upload them?
An hour later the second account responds, "I would try epicfail_com etc or a new site that has cools stuff youhavefailed_com"

First account that accepts second accounts answer as best.

That will work for some traffic that will hold for a while.

 

Try posing some content from your site on places like reddit, or even facebook every now and then.

 

Yes I have allready done some bookmarking on reddit,pinterest and other website like that but the thing is that you need a lot of followers.

I guess the Youtube thing worth a try as it free can bring lot of traffic.

Yahoo answers can also work well. I will try both

I would try and build a Twitter following and promote it there!

 

Are you sharing fail image ? If yes you might use 9Gag to share it out and make a joke and bring some traffic from there.
You can try on Facebook ads while facebook user love to see and share image and they is the place to bring traffic to your site.

 

I agree with DaveInFL. YouTube videos with links back to your site would work great to get targeted traffic. YouTube is one of the biggest "search" engines out there now.

 

Yes I'm allready doing some youtube promotion and also Pinterest ! I guess pinterest will bring lot of traffic !
I've tried 9gag but it's not great for me !

 

Try to have a facebook page and a group on linkedin twitter is a good option too.

To start, if you're site is in all french you need to completely change it, or put a free translator to french rather than to english somewhere on the top because english is a very popular language, and for me personally if I see a site not in english I don't bother looking at anything else. Also, take a few minutes and turn some pictures or make some videos into a youtube video, and post them up and redirect people back to your site.

 

Before give you some fresh idea, it is important to know what techniques you are using now. I am not agree with the idea to try with Pinterest as it does not have enough activities. However, Youtube could be a good choice for promotion.

 

You can also join yahoo answer or yahoo group if you need more traffic.

 

It has to be Youtube - with the right keywords and if you SEO you video properly you should get lots of traffic
