Hey everyone I have a site which averages about 3,700 - 4,000 uniques per day. I had adsense on the site and it was doing pretty good, earnings ranged anywhere from 10.00 to 20.00 a day. I have a pretty good idea that the majority of my visitors are teenage girls, so I figured I would try some affiliate offers and cpa offers. I've signed up and been accpted to CJ, CB, Hydra, and Neverblue. First offer was an (CJ) affiliate banner offering merchandise related to my content I let it run for 3 days, the banner received 180 clicks and zero sales. I then decided that teenage girls probably didn't have any money to buy things online, so I decided to try some CPA stuff. I tried running a banner rotator (neverblue) with 3 different CPA's. All CPA's were related to crush/dating. After 1.5 days I had received 12 clicks! and no conversions. I've also tried running a dream wedding CPA and a money for surveys CPA. These performed even worse than the dating CPA's. For all of these attempts my traffic remained steady just as it had been for adsense. I think with the amount of traffic I'm receiving I could be making more money with affiliates than adsense, I just haven't found the proper formula yet. What am I doing wrong, does anyone have any suggestions?
Hmmm not many views on this thread, I'm thinking I should have posted it in a different area... Last try, any suggestions?
No, I will try those, thanks for the tips. I thought for sure my audience would be interested in the Enter your crush's name and calculate love banners... Guess not, I'll give music downloads a shot first. Anyone have any recommend campaigns for music downloads?
Teenage girls probably didn't have any money - i guess this could be the issue. I saw in somewhere an interesting idea - these teen websites where created in a way that motived THEM to ask their PARENTS to do the purchase. Basically, if we consider you sold the kids, now you need to push them to ask their parents to do the purchases for them
Thanks for the tip, how would I go about doing that? Over the weekend I tried a Loreal Free beauty sample E-mail submit which recieved 37 clicks on saturday but again, no conversions. Sunday I tried a jamster downloadable phone pics of Playboy girls ( I wanted to see how a male ad did...) It got 26 clicks and no signups/conversions. I still don't think that this ad slot is being optimized correctly, granted affiliate programs usually only count unique clicks, but when adsense was in the exact same spot, I was getting 120+ clicks a day. Now with affiliate marketing I am getting maximum 37 clicks a day... Any other suggestions?
