I have a blog which started in the month of June 2008. I have not posted much and it just has 38 posts as of yet, but these days the Google toolbar shows the PR to be 3. How can this be possible? I do submit my blog to different social bookmarking sites and I wanted to know from you guys who r professionals, whether this is going to stay or is it just a passing wind??And how can I make use of it asap, if it's going to vanish in the next PR cycle? Pls advice me.
My website just got to be a Pr 3. What you want to do is keep up with the competitors. The more pt 9's and 10's there are, the lower the ranking you will have. what you should start to do is put your site's link in your signature and also maybe you should turn your blog into a do-follow blog and submit it to over 200 directories. This way, you will get your ranking up a lot.
One of the best ways I have found to help keep your high PR is to try and develop at least 3 separate blogs, and for all of them to have similar (not exact) content.. Then provide a One way link to each sites home page. Just don't have any other out going links on your home pages, except your own (this will give you the most link juice).... This will not guarantee to keep your high PR however it is the best way I have found yet, to hold onto what you have... Hope this helps...
If you have decent number of quality backlinks you can get PR3, which probably happened in your case. Unique content and internal linking structure also increases PR. But google is known to have given PR to parked domains as well, so it's not a very accurate measure
