I want to put some money into selling some VPNs. First I want to start off on forums and POSSIBLY move to creating a basic website. I'm kind of asking for a lot, but post what you want.

I'm looking for the following from SELLERS:

-advice (best if from someone who is selling/has sold vpns)
-advantages and disadvantages of the business
    -constructive critism to my idea
-your average or rough numbers of costs and profits, per week/month
-any other reasonable information you would need to give me advice
-common mispreceptions, if any, of selling vpns
    -payment methods you accept
    -your website, if any
-experience (how long you've been selling)
-any legal issues that may occur
    -personal obstacles you met
-best hosting- dedicated or vps -- in terms of price, customer support, etc
    -pptp or openvpn

I am also looking for the follow from VPN BUYERS:

-what you look for/biggest factor in purchase decision -- price, speed, variety of service, security, customer support, nationality of company
    -what turns you on/off from a seller/website
    -payment methods you prefer
-term you buy your VPN for, and why
    -pptp or openvpn

Thanks in advance for everything you have to say!

As a buyer i would prefer price around 5-7 bucks monthly and then speed and up time also a important issue cause some of the vpn provide crappy service in high price. Customer service have to be ready and provide quick respond and help for the customer, it would be great if the customer service can online frequently. Nationality of company doesn't really important, as long as the provider are trusted and not like some of the vpn provider just open few months for business and then closed. For payment i prefer Paypal, i found out some of the vpn provider they not support Paypal so it will be hard for the buyer if they just having Paypal but no other payment methods. For terms it depends, if the provider able to provide great service and less down time customer sure will keep subscribe it and some people not just subscribe the vpn for surfing certain site but they do downloading stuff via torrent or others, so if the vpn blocked or firewalled any ports that would be a bad thing for the subscriber. As you know some of the application won't work if the port are blocked or firewalled and that's no point to use such vpn. For the connection type PPTP it's fine but maybe some people would prefer OpenVpn.

Above just my personal opinion, hope it's help.

Personnelly i am looking for a VPN that is more than just a secure connection and something that is hassle free and easy to set up. There are many companies claiming that theirs is the best, but once you have paid a certain amount of money they usually close down after a certain amount of time.
Also certain VPN providers only have per month payments for the service which also increases the potential loss of money if they are a fly by night company. A prepaid method would be a good service to have VPN service for every hour i use.
Also like the previous poster suggested using paypal would be a good way of getting money as most people now adays have an account with them.
Perhaps have a look at vpnmessenger service to get some ideas for your project (type into yahoo) as they have something similar to what i suggested in my comments.

Personally I prefer Disqus. IntenseDebate is very nice looking but the issue is that it's just too buggy.. that's just my opinion though.
