Group, I have found what I believe to be a premium .com domain available for a blog but it has no keyword search or $ associated with the domain name. But, I feel the pages I would create for the blog would be valuable keyword wise and $ wise. I was wondering what peoples opinions on this are. For example, let's take an example of john chow's website. It's a premium domain basically because he is a brand, but the domain name itself really wouldn't have any monthly search or $ associated with it if knowbody new who he was. But the pages he produces on his blog clearly are designed for keywords alot of the time. Another example of this is the website techcrunch. We all know it to be extremely popular, but the $ on that search is only a .05 click. Obviously they monetize in different ways, but could adsense be a money maker in the beginning stages of the website based on keywording the subpages correctly? So I guess that is my question. If you want to have a blog that is adsense driven, can you do this effectively if the domain name has no relevance to keywords, even though the sub pages of the blog definitely will. Remember, I believe the domain itself to be premium. Thanks for your opinions in advance.
Sure you can, doman name is not everything, the adsense per-click-earnings will not depend only on the domain name, they will depend on the content around the ad-block.
Dear................ Yes.! it is effectively if the domain name has no relevance to keywords, the keyword pointing from the sub pages of the blog or posts of the blog definitely will move traffic towards your blog or site, even if the domain name is not similar to keywords.
It is very possible to do, just more difficult. you can still rank for the keyword you want (Courtney Tuttle's site shows that) with the right on page SEO and backlinking It is how many 'brands' are developed. Whilst the SEO boost of a keyworded domain is not to be sniffed at, if you are in it for the long haul and are prepared to work on SEO then having a brand rather than a keyword is probably more valuable. Just be prepared to work hard at backlinking for the keywords you do target!
