HI all - Looking for a little advice. I have a website and the traffic is doing good, but it is not turning over with the ads. So I went looking for a guru who could help me dissect the issues of the site and find out how to place ads better (or whatever.) At the moment he is asking for $850 to give me a report. Found another dude who would do it for $650. Again only a report. It seems like a lot of cash for a report. This doesn't include helping me figure out changes that would or would not fit into the current theme (it's a wordpress site.) My question is does $850 sound like too much for a revenue specialist who offers just a report and won't even give me his name? Any and all help would be appreciated. I got ripped off when the site went up 6 months ago by a different website designer and at this point I am seriously leery of anyone who puts pressure on me (the revenue guy says I have till the end of the week to make a decision.)
I say $850 or even $650 is a lot to actually help you create the theme let alone for just a report. If you message me your site I could maybe give you a few pointers free of charge of course.
I wouldn't pay that much for just a report. $100 maybe. But then again, will they really provide an advice you need? Post the link to your site in the site reviews section here on DP: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/forums/websites.23/ maybe you will be able to get a better advice for virtually nothing.
Please do not pay any money for a report! Perhaps if you have a $20k+ monthly advertising budget, then paying for a report could be justified. Otherwise.. You can get all the information you need for free, you just need patience. Trial and error is usually the best method! - Get your website reviewed for free (here, on any webmaster forum or a site like critique.com) - Explore other methods of monetizing (e.g. sell monthly advertising space instead of PPC) - Play around with your ads (A-B testing will let you create your own report about what works best) Hope that helps! I'm interested to see your website lol
If you were on 20K USD monthly revenue, you wouldn't even be asking for help in the first place. You need to check who your ads are and if you can improve your eCPM (if you're advertising this way), or perhaps find ads that will convert on a CPA-basis (still improving your eCPM on the bottomline) Paying 850 USD is absolutely nuts. Guy is going to take advice from a similar niche, find THEIR ad banners and advice you to put them up such and such.
