That's a lot of traffic and I hope you are considering more than just 1 server. Think about scalability and dividing the traffic up into multiple servers. At least the DB should get it's own server and the servers should be optimized to handle traffic at this kind of scale.

For managed hosting, I only have experience with Rack Space (http://www.rackspace.com/), but they are very pricey and you may be better off with an unmanaged option. I'd recommend some other, cheaper host and maybe hiring help to manage them.

I'm using Cari.net (among others) and am very happy with the service. Their servers start at around $60 so you should be able to find a good option in your budget (unless you are willing to go for multiple servers).

You may want to consider boltok's advice in part. But perhaps a larger server would help offset this for the time being. What sort of usage are you going through right now? Such as bandwidth and even disk space. I can help you find a good server just let me know.

I also have a server with Cari.net (who I chose after quite a bit of research) and am very happy with the quality of service so far.

    Data base size 13mb
    Bandwidth used 6-8gb a day
Mysql usage 50.426 MCn a month (dunno what that means)
    mysql dis usage 15-20mb

    Hope that helps?

wow! huge traffic. just like with what boltok have said, better move the db, and have it a centralized db in a different server.

hmm, i'm wondering if there's a web host that allows clustering?

this is currently on a 5.99 a month host. Im sure it would survive on a dedicated server just not willing to pay $150 + $400 setup fee. Ill pay the $150.

Yes, $400 is really high. You can definitely find better alternatives within the budget. If I had that budget and this kind of requirement, I'd go with 2 or 3 $60 servers and spread the load on these.

whoa! who's charging you that setup fee? Alot of hosts don't even charge for setting things up, but some do.
