Need Advice: My first day, first hour in Affiliate Marketing.

As the title explains, am very new to this. I've been reading about it since almost an hour. Registered with ClickBank and Commision Junction. I don't seem to find the kind of products I need, cellular related. I Google a few topics, I did find some sites promoting certain products. They're from Clickbank mostly. So nice, I have something to start with.

I'll be definitely curious about how to market your products, how to actually sell them and a bunch of other questions. But I respect that you might like to keep some secrets. That's fine.

Can I ask help for sharing how to find the right products? How to know which one will work best? Most importantly, do you have some tips on which network to use and why?

I am really curious about learning a few jargons used by affiliate marketing industry or maybe just CB and CJ.

Lately, I've been thinking, now I'd like to get in to water to test how deep it is. I can do something, I believe.

    Thank you! :)

I've spent a few more hours, trying to learn the rope of the game from a nobody to an affiliate marketeer. Indeed, there is a lot of disappointment around. Lot of sad stories but hopefully I'll find my way through it. At this moment, maybe its too early for me to speak big.

    @Tushavi @elkhra
    Best of luck! :)

Affiliate marketing can be hard. They key is to find the right promoting method of the right product. Most of times reviews of a product with convincing words that these products are what consumer really need than you can earn great. You can make a review site/blog or build a mailing list. Also don't give up!

Well, I used to own a few domains, with little US traffic and some good non-US traffic. Things didn't work out so well for me. I wasn't doing affiliate marketing then, by the way. But I let it all go, even those domains expired BUT I did learn a lot. I wasn't aware of the whole game.

Now, I want to start from scratch, promoting the right products, with the right keywords and right mindset. Mainly my idea is to have a website, get some traffic and optimize the copy for whatever I plan to promote. The question is, what's the best way to pick out a niche that works well? Those who pay good returns BUT are legit and useful to people who buy as well.

Lots of little ideas going around in my head, just looking for a mentor who've been through all of this and is kind enough to share a few experiences. Thanks.

There are a few methods to choose a good niche. Some methods I know:

    1. Take a look at how popular a product is. In ClickBank every product has "gravity", the higher the gravity the popular it is.
    2. How many visitors can you get from it. Check with adwords keyword tool if you can get a lot of visitors for a product.
    3. There are forums where people discuss affiliate programs and their performance. You can get good informations here.
    4. Find popular sites that earn from affiliate marketing. Than build a site promoting the same products.

After that you only need to get visitors and convince them to buy!

I would need to know more about your niche, but if you're at all in the internet marketing niche or something related, you may want to explore some other affiliate program options.

The best approach is to find products you REALLY like and that are VERY well priced, and then create a special report on the subject that has as its natural conclusion that the reader just HAS to get that affiliate product.

Spread these all over the web. Also offer them in exchange for opt-in so you can build your list and continue marketing to your list. That should help you make some money.
