    Hi all,

I need some advices about the best ways to ask my customers for reviews (good or bad) about my software.

Any tips or hints in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

In the past I have always found it difficult to get feedback from clients.

More often than not, people need incentives to respond. You could offer a discount off a future purchase or a free update of the software etc.

Why don't you just ask them to write it? Its not hard to ask them. People will do it if your product is good, without questions asked.

Don't push them to write something, but a quick friendly message asking for some feedback should do it. Offer them discounts on future products or buy a PLR ebook and give it away free to anyone who posts a review.

Hope you have got their leads into subscription form before you ask them to download the software. To me this is the perfect way to get in touch with the people who have purchased the software. Then you can ask them for the review or feedback after 15 days or so upon purchase.

If you are looking for a lot of responses, why not offer an incentive to send in a review. Maybe offer a free month subscription or free upgrade?!

The best way is to first bring them on a mutual platform i.e make sure you direct all your customers to your social network or encourage them to join your Facebook business Page.

There you have all of them at one place... you can then ask them may be by sending personal message to each of them or you can post it over your Fan Page Wall and let them have their say about your product. This is the best and a powerful way to get reviews & feedback... your product/company gets brand presence and it keeps on multiplying.

Simply ask them, maybe offer them a discount to "sweeten" the deal a bit :)

It's best to ask those already using it. Remember, it's usually (WIIFM) or "What's In It For Me) with anything you do, give them a good reason or incentive to

You guys are making this too hard really, just ask them. If your client thinks your product is unuseful or they did not like it they will probably mention it. If they do like it just ask them and maybe they will write it. People are more honest than you think...

Excellent idea! You should be building a database of your customers through an autoresponder. You could use it on the premise that the list is being used to keep customers informed of future updates and simply have one of the messages asking them to give an honest review of your product.

You could also offer another piece of software, like a companion software or something that compliments the first piece, as a bribe for their review. This might skew the reviews in your favor too!

What works great is offers like fia-net or shopzilla that will give you each month a chance to win some $100, $50 or less prizes each time you answer a quick survey. They work in behalf of big companies.

Some ways webmasters get reviews from their clients/visitors is via offering something for free, maybe an eBook for offering their point of view on the performance of the site
