Need Advice for marketing an Image Host

Hello,

A friend of mine recently bought an image host as a way to break into the internet business world. He kind of got in over his head because he has no idea how to market it. Unfortunately I have no idea about image hosts and I really can't help him too much. I told him to search these forums but if anyone has anymore specific advice about marketing an image host it would really help him out.

He could try using Google Adwords

 

What's unique about his image host? What makes him different to the other twenty five thousand image hosts? Why should anyone host their images there?

Answer these questions first

 

Are image hosts even profitable or should I tell him to cut his losses?

 

They arnt real profitable and they use big bandwidth and diskspace when they get popular. I would try and market it to non-tech savvy people who are more inclined to click ads, such as forums for women, pets, sports etc.

Webmasters are known for not clicking ads and can use alot of resources for no return. I had websites hosting 100 plus MB of images for their own site just to save their own hosting bill.

I do know if i had $1 for every adult image uploaded i would be retired right now.

 

So would non-webmaster forums be a good place? Lots of forums users use pics so that sounds like it may work.
