Need advice for Craigslist.

I sell parts and trucks, cars, IE etc on Craigslist. These are legit ads and there is no spamming at all. This is how I make a little money plus wheelin and dealin. My problem is my ads keep getting flagged, I have went to their help forum and aside from the stupid remarks the only answer they gave me was people are jealous of my ads.

I do put a lot of time into each ad by changing the HTML to make it look nice instead of the crappy black font color, that is the only thing I change. My question is this, is there a way to hide java on Craigslist? I want to install a Stat counter that can track IP addresses etc so I can try to find this individual that keeps flagging my posts.

Or, is there a better way? This is getting to be old, each ad I make I paste in notepad and save it so when it gets flagged all I have to do is copy paste it but like I said this is getting old. I guess the bottom line is that I want to find this person and pay him/her a little visit. I do have a server to use but I just don't know of a way to hide some kind of code in the HTML of my ads. Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks and have a great day!

Well I suggest you just save the ads you made on a notepad document and repost. Sadly to say, there is some 50 year old virgins who sit on craigslist all day in there mothers basement flagging others posts so there posts are the only ones on for that category.

You need to just give them the jist and refrain from posting any links.

Why not use image ads? Just create an attractive image ad based on what you're selling... quick, and easy. Make it clickable to your website. Then post a small bit of content below the image ad, and move on to the next.

I do this in various ways for clients of mine, and have yet to have an ad flagged.

There are apps, I am pretty sure that count stats on CL or other classified ad sites... but why not just set up a trackable link and see what your CTR is? Traffic doesn't matter... (well, it does obviously... but) ACTION matters... calling you, emailing you, or clicking through to your website to buy etc.

As you can see I did not put the URL of each of my posts in this time and it seemed to help BUT, nowhere in the rules do it say anything about adding all your posts in each post. I dunno maybe they are jealous because I use different colors instead of black perhaps. Thoughts, ideas IE etc?

Keep making the posts unique, try just base text and not HTML yeah? That tends to look less spammy.

Try using video posting on 123exchanges. Video seems more realistic and give your potential customers better insight of what you're selling. People won't flag you if you use video.

Man you'll just have to keep posting. CL has gotten so hard these days not to mention competitive.

First off, I'd suggest you just provide a list of the items you are selling, not individual links to the other ads. If the other ads are like this one, you are essentially cross indexing each, which essentially a lot of extra work for nothing.

Also, the last item in the ad is for the same thing the ad is about... this either redirects the visitor to the same page, or another page with an identical item. Both tend to upset people. The redirect is irritating because it just refreshes the same page. The link to an identical item makes your description at the top less effective (they think you're lying about the item). Either can get the posting flagged...

There isn't any place that indicates how to contact you. Craigslist works best with a phone number, because many people using it are looking for immediate response, not a blind-email that may or may not be answered...

The rules I've found effective for posting to Craigslist are as follows:
-- Unless the title is "spring cleaning" or "Yard Sale" or similarly labeled, one item or category per post.
-- Post a clear description of the item. (New, and Like New Condition in the same description sounds like a lie. Either the items is new in package, or used and in like new condition, but not both...)
-- At least one picture is a minimum unless _everyone_ knows what you are selling, and even then, they want to see the item to see the condition for themselves.
-- Clear method for contacting you quickly. Best is a telephone number. Most people want to be able to contact you on thier time, not when you get around to answering an email. If you must use email, and don't want to expose your regular email address, get a throwaway, free one to use just for CL.
-- If you want to list other items you have for sale, a one line per item with a price works. If they want more information they can search for the items or call you. Generally you can get away with up to 10 or a dozen "extras" without much of an issue.
--Don't mess around with changing font sizes. A bit of color here and there isn't a big deal to most people, but changing font sizes looks amateurish and tends to make people think you're spamming them. Larger text, all caps and other font modifications are harder to read and just irritate people.

I've found that most people I've worked with that were consistently "flagged" had one of two problems. 1) They were somehow getting flagged due the way they formatted their posts (too much cross-linking, odd font sizes, multiple colors, trying to embed unusual html coding, java etc.) Some of these were getting flagged so consistently, I think there was an automatic flag of the post under program control. 2) they had an unhappy "customer" that is striking back because they think they were wronged, asked for and didn't get a refund, or were unhappy with whatever they bought for some reason.
