Hi Everyone, This is my first post here. My friend and I released an app called Beagle a few days ago with the goal of allowing people in communities, including college campuses, with a way to share their to-do lists and run each others' errands. Our marketing efforts so far have not yielded great results. We have done and continue to do in-person guerrilla marketing as well as posting to reddit and facebook. For a service like ours to take off, we obviously need a large user base so that if someone posts "I need a ride" there is someone there to run it. I was hoping to get some feedback and advice from you marketers out there on ways to reach out to large groups of people in a short matter of time. There is little that we are not willing to do. Critical mass. I would focus on one geo location first - the Bronx looks good Somewhere that the target population is plugged in to a vibrant social scene on and off-campus. Right now there are not enough users in any one area to make the app as interesting or engaging as its potential...I even notice a few non-student and location unknowns. Also...what happens when a request is filled? I'm thinking rewards, social sharing, etc. Craigslist, AngiesList, TaskRabbit, etc all started with one city Best of Success!
