We are designing a big shopping - like site right now and we need a content writer to write our help, support and knowledge base area and maybe some text here or there on the site. The size of the support area is going to be somewhere of the size of support on ebay, maybe a bit less or more. Now we have never hired a content writer and don't know how it work, and how much it usually costs. But if anyone is interested, or can give me some information on what i should look for when hiring someone please let me know.. Thank you
hmm interesting zman. Now i don't have any clue why people are messaging me about blog posting? Did i say i wanted blog posting? not at all. I need a support system for an unreleased site.
Since you mention you've never hired a content writer before, it's important to figure out what your goals are and hire a writer who fits the criteria you've selected. If you're concerned about the quality of your content, hiring a professional writer will not come "cheap." However, if quality is very important to you then you will definitely want to consider a writer with stellar examples of past work. For quality content, you must understand that a professional does this work for a living and charges accordingly.
I need a writer too. I don't know which on is the best solution to find them: * On forums * On site like elance ??
Overall, it doesn't matter where you hire a writer provided they are able to create quality content for your website. I strongly suggest whichever route you go that you work directly with a writer rather than a company that outsources their work to various people. That way, you have a direct link to the writer if you need to ask any questions, clarify something, or work with the writer on any changes you might want.
Ewritenow.com would love to help you with your project. Check out rates, samples, & testimonals. If you're interested, send a PM!
After Franck S asked for a writer nobody replied until Denise came to say it is better go for a personal writer instead of a writers service. Since then, lots of writers services are posting instead of let individual writers approach him. IMHO, this is a little funny.
if you're shortlisting writers, you might want to farm out a small section of the help site. maybe spec out 3-5 page worth of content and sub it out to 3-10 content writers, evaluate the quality of submissions you get. then from there you might want to shortlist 1-3 writers for the site. and work with those. i generally like to work with 2-3 writers so i have more flexibility and contingency if they go on vacation, are ill, etc.
andrew that is a good idea. If any writers, not services message me please provide your pricing structure and sample work. This will save time. There has been a couple inquiries so far and none of this info was provided. Thanks
DonKon: you may wish to spec out the following: 1) topic 2) description 3) type of writing: info, opinion, keyword rich, interaction provoking? 4) number of words reqd 5) delivery time frame and go from there. btw: i'm a great copyeditor. and a ranked journalist: you can google for "business times" "andrew wee" in google or other search engines. my articles have been carried by BBC, Cnet, bloomberg, etc.
