Hello dpers, Site name :: http://www.reviewhogs.com My mission :: get a product listings/directory website famous Ok so I had done some research over the net and now that my exams are over I want to get into online marketing and stuff. My first mission is affiliate programming. I read a few ebooks and am researching on the best niche etc. And then a pretty good idea hit me. So I started creating a website that can host multiple affiliate products. So lots of people who want to start affiliate marketing can get a boost. For now I have fully completed and implemented the site. But my problem is traffic. I have no idea how to target consumers who will actually visit the site and get a product listed there. I have also set up blog and a forum for members to interact and stuff. My final goal is to make this site an affiliate marketers hub.... Please help me get traffic into the site. Can you give me tips and tricks to get the site up and moving??? The website won't be of any use to people if there is no traffic to the site.
here's a tip, the best way to get targeted traffic is through social marketing. Facebook? Twitter? LinkedIn? sounds familiar?
My friends and I use facebook for fun..... I have never seen it as a way to make money...am I missing out on something here??? Also what is social marketing? Do u mean bookmarking or??? And thanks for the help
social marketing is promoting your site to those sites, the most effective for me is twitter. Give a brief info about your site and provide a link into your site.
chemicalink if you get traffic from search engines is the best. but you can also try advertisment in related blogs etc, if you have budget. also u can try ezinearticles etc. but it doesnt get you heaps of traffic. but helps. ----- btw i have some quesitons about getting traffic without google, how do u get traffic to your twitter, i just know facebook. and i dont know nobody on twitter. Does twitter work for me if i start. i guess it will not worth. and i just 1 time have used digg and i just get "1" unique although i heard that social bookmarking gets lots of traffic. if anybody answer these i appreciate.

Major search engines look for unique and good contents in your site. So load your site with original contents that satisfies the human visitors. Build niche related one way back links and with proper search engine optimization, you can win the confidence of search engines like google, yahoo etc... Remember : Search engine traffic is free but it is organic in nature and highly targeted. It takes time to build up but once started, there is no stopping unless you do something that goes against the TOS.

Nope, that does not sound familiar at all. Traffic from social networking sites usually has a high bounce rate. On just about all of my sites, traffic from social networking sites has between a 75% - 95% bounce rate. My highest source of targeted traffic comes from Youtube. My average bounce rate is 38%, youtube bounce rate is 18%, social networking - 75% - 95%. When someone finds my forum through my youtube channel, they are 60 times more likely to create an account then traffic from google search results.
Do a press release youll get on google news and depending on your site youll be contacted by major news agencys for more info about your services and maybe demos, at the least youll get some valuble backlinks, pm i can recomend some for you.
