Need a simple script

Hi, I would like to be able to have a PHP/MySQL script that would allow an admin (i.e., password required) to post simple text to a page from a form. The script is for a band's shows page, so all I need to have stored in the database is the day of the show and basic info.

All of this should be posted to one .php file. I know PHP somewhat well and can set up premade MySQL scripts, but I cannot code MySQL "from the ground up" myself.

If anyone can help me out with a script that can do this on short notice I would be much appreciative.

I think sNews installed in a subdirectory and linked to from you main page would be a simple, easy free solution to your needs. It is fairly simple to set up. I am using it slightly modified in the articles section of the site in my sig line.

Try Exponent or Website Baker. Next in the row would be Joomla! probably...

Website Baker is an excellent choice. I used it recently to create a website and I really liked it, for it is highly customizable to any layout (I modified the allcss template) and allows quick and easy management of pages, a wysiwyg interface, it's perfect really for simple websites, enabling you to focus only on adding content (once the template is customized) .
