    Hi Everyone,
    I currently contribute 6% of my earnings to my companies 401K. The company only matches up to 6%. I have 3 columns in my spreadsheet:

    My Contributions
    Employer Match
    Total

    I need a new formula for the employer match column. Right now in the employer match column I have it multiplying "My contributions" X .40 for the company match.

    I am going to increase my 401K to 8%. So my current formula won't work. I need something that when I enter a number into my contributions column it'll calculate what my employer is putting in only up to 6%. If I multiply it by 8% it will be incorrect.

    Thanks!

    make another coloumn in between those

    Like what percentage employer pays u ,keep it variable

    suppose

    A B C D
    1
    2
    3
    4

    A1 contains my contrib
    b1 contains %age
    c1 contains employer match
    d1 =a1+c1
    c1 =a1*b1/100

    Thanks for the response. :)

    I'm not to sure I follow. Here is a screen shot of my spreadsheet. The only column with a formula in it is the "Employer" Match column. You can see the formula I have. It just multiplies what I enter into the "My Contributions" X 40% for the employer match.

    Next paycheck it's going up to 8% so unfortunately I can't use that formula because my company only matches up to 6%.
