Just got submitted a template for a new real estate site from a independent designer. I'm looking for a review from consumers to agents to webmasters, so please post your comments.

We wanted for it to be simple, easy to understand, and fast loading.

    Real Estate Template

Should I take it, tell him to make changes (please suggest yours), or trash it?

Personally I do not really like it. It is pretty simple and good in that regard. But I think it could use at least one other colour besides grey. Also I do not really care for the font used. I don't know, I just do not really like the overall feel of it.

    I ditto what JoeO said.

I am a firm believer in three main colors. Suggest you look at the following color picker. http://wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html . Note the design on this forum is simple, yet note how the colors work together.

The font makes me want to clean my glasses or if there was a focus adjustment on my screen adjust the focus.

    Overall the site is dull.

    Best of luck.

I'm in agreement with JoeO and Smyrl, it looks really dull and uninteresting. Thanks for the color picker link Smyrl, thats a cool tool.

Thanks for that link Smyrl that is a pretty handy tool, I have times where I spend way to long trying to pick colour schemes :)

I use that colour picker tool also and find it invaluable.

I would also recommend a different font. Possibly one of the sans-serif fonts which are easier to read on the web. There is an interesting thread going on which fonts people use.

I have heard that it is good to only use 2-3 different font sizes. Your template looks like it has more than that.

I wouldn't call it ugly, but somehow it's not appealing. Just think of the psychological associations with gray and monochromatic sights. If you are paying for this service, I reccomend you demand a better template. It is workable, but you really want to find something appealing.
