Need a review on a new site

I just launched a new site 2 weeks ago - a little unsure about the placement of the banners & adsense ads.

Form? Functionality? Content? Any thoughts you could share would be more welcome!

    Coppermine gallery is everywhere :)

I like this web but right "menu" and banner is breaking the layout. See screenshot in attachment. (in Opera8 and MSIE6)

Using Coppermine myself, I think you did a pretty good job. The only suggestion I would have is to display more than 4 thumbnails of the wallpapers at a time. I've had users complaining about not being able to see enough thumbnails at once and it makes it irratating for them to browse the site.

Sorry for the double post, but I also just noticed something else.

In your space gallery you don't have any credit line providing credit to the original source. I have been in contact with various people at NASA concerning image use permissions and using any NASA image without providing the necessary credit is against their terms of use.

    very nice coppermine theme...

i'd suggest that you remove the random file section in order to reduce loading time - i.e. only keep the albums and the new updates on the index page.

The pop ups are not good imo!

The site is otherwise clean, tidy and userfriendly :)

    Like the design, quite effective.

I would move the scripting code into a separate file though.

You should also start building BLs to your site as well.

I barely noticed the "blocking pop-ups" alert in Firefox. For a beginning site pop-ups are a definite no-no. You'll drive away a lot of users that way.

Thank you all so much for your excellent advice !

Step 1 - The pop up windows are gone as of this very minute.
I've also deleted the random images (much faster load time now) and increased the thumbnail views to 5 per page.

Step2 - I've removed the banner and restored continuity to the layout.

As the space photos came from both NASA and the Hubble site, it will take a few days to annotate each photo correctly, but I expect to have it done in the next week.

justicewhite - you read my mind!

Once again, I am grateful for the sound advice. Thank you all for sharing your time and expertise.

My sincerest thanks to everyone - JL

No doubt its a good loking site. but needs a bit tunning. bottom of the page has huge blank spaces. User might think that there will be some thing to show but nothing is there. Unnecessary scrolling the page.

    Thanks
