    I suppose that you need to try to contact the current customers of the web host provider of your choice and see if they are satisfied with the kind of services being rendered by the web host company.

    I'll second SingleHop. Burst is pretty good for the budget-end stuff. Limestone is good as well.

    I use Hostome.com dedicated server and recently I see a deal email from them mentioning they have some good 24gb ram servers available on excellent deals, you might want contact their support and see if you can make any good deals, for support I will sure recommend you them, you will be very happy with support

    You might check out an Amazon EC2 Cloud server. You can start out with them for free (for the first year), and the price goes up as your server utilization goes up (high utilization can cause the free to convert to paid) . I have a few friends who have done it.
