Hi, I Host a gaming server and what i want to get done is transfer .txt info info a database. I have been told that this can be done by VB6 programing with limited knowledge and done pretty easily. This is what i want done: As you can see in this screen shot below there is some information. This is a log from the gaming server i run. On the line I've selected the "KingCobra" is a players name and the other information tells me what hes done or killed in the game. The 12 in the screen shot nearest to the beginning is what hes done, there are different numbers from 1-60 which shows what he has done, a 1 could mean he killed a monster, a 2 could mean he picked up some items and so on. What i need the program/script to be able to do is if the 12 is a certain number then gather other information on that line like his name. Then after the information is gatherd i need it sent to a database, from there i can do the rest. Ive found this kind of hard to explain but if you think you can do it please let me know and we can discuss the price. Also the tricky part is the log name isnt always the same, such as Log.txt in a certain place, a new log is created every 10 mins or so so a log now might be in the folder Logs/2009-02-03/Log-03h50m depending on the time and date. This also needs to be INSTANT so if a player kills a monster it needs to goto the database instantly, not a second or two later. And dont try and play me for a fool, i will not be scammed.
