Hey everyone, I just purchased an established baseball related site that gets about 50,000 uniques and 200,000 page views per month. I'm not a tech guy, I'm just interested in writing about baseball and liked that the site was established with traffic. There is a front page and individual player pages, about 60,000 total pages (every major and minor leaguer who has played since 2005). Right now there are some poorly placed AdSense ads that don't appear to everyone, and I'm sure there's more that can be done to properly monetize the site. Trouble is, there are so many networks and so many quasi-legitimate reviews about all the different ad networks that I'm not sure where to start to maximize what I'm trying to do. Am I better off with PPC or CPM, and which networks are currently paying out enough to make either worth my while? Anyone who can help provide me with a place to start would be greatly appreciated.
For high traffic site like yours I would recommend going with a cpm ad network, since high traffic site seem to perform better with cpm ad networks than with ppc ad networks. But my recommendation would be to join some ppc ad networks and run cpm as your additional ad network, because with cpm you earn money just for displaying ads and with ppc you earn when someone click on the ads. Here are some good cpm and ppc ad network recommendations. 1. Tribal Fusion (cpm) 2. AdsDaq (cpm) 3. Snoork Ads (cpm) 4. AdSense (ppc) 5. BidVertiser (ppc) 6. AdBrite (ppc)
