    I need 2 things:

One, when someone donates it lists there names (if they want) and the amt and

Two, the amount donated is subtracted from a total

    thanks

    You also need number 3 (4, 5, 6, 7, etc.):

Tell us whether you want the full app pasted here, hire someone, which language and platform, just a link, some inspiration and you'll code it yourself, etc.

Your wants are kind of vague...

    BJ,

That is a rather simple project. A couple of questions for you:

    1. Is this the only website/function for that PayPal account or will it be running on other websites?

    2. What is your budget?

    3. How automated do you want it to be?

Contact me by PM with URL and more details if you want a quote back.

Sorry for the vagueness. I am sure this isn't an original idea so I was hoping someone could point me to a script or at least get me started.

If it is really simple and inexpensive I don't mind paying to have it coded.

Nah, its not all that complex. I don't immediately know of any existing solutions, but I haven't done a thourough search.

I usually start my search at http://php.resourceindex.com and go to Google and MSN Search on from there.

I guess the real potential complexity is whether or not you want it fully automated and even that really isn't that bad.

I was sort of looking for a simple PHP project to tackle and distribute and if you don't have any objections to me making it available to anyone, I might code something like this and make it freely available (with a copyright link of course, I might charge a nominal fee like say $10 to remove the copyright link).

Of course the case being that if everyone had one of these, it wouldn't be so unique and you might see them pop up everywhere.

Let me know your thoughts on it.

yeah i am all about sharing the application. some of the work has been done at paypaldev.com (i think). basically think telethon countdown. for example I need 30,000 dollars ...... everytimne someone donates....if they want they can leave there name and donation amount and comment and the amount gets subtracted from total...all of the above being optional

Drupal has a similar module. I use Joomla mostly and would love to see it there. There are many requests for it so i am sure it would drive traffic

I'll do something. Let me start it as a stand alone and I think that would take me a good afternoon or two of development. With the holiday week, it probably won't be until late next week before its done.

Once I have it working, I'll get a copy of Joomla and see what it would take to make it particularly "Joomla" friendly.
