I have a couple of pages up that might help:

    christian wedding songs

    Giant List of Wedding Songs

This section of my site needs to be built out a lot more, but a couple of decent lists.

It really is important to talk with the guitarist though - if he has three or four songs that he really knows well, you may want to go with one of those. At least get a feel for how his voice sounds and figure out if you are talking with a guy who would sound better doing the theme from Titanic or a Louis Armstrong classic. Don't just limit yourself to songs that have been played on "unplugged" cd's - a lot of music sounds great with just a guitar - a little different, but still good. I've heard a guy singing "Wind Beneath my Wings" on an accoustic guitar without it sounding totally cheesy.

What about the theme from Bodyguard that Whitney Houston redid... I can't think of the name of it right now, but originally it was a country song.

I would say "Lady in Red" is a good one but not too fitting for a wedding (in terms of the bride will not be in red unless it is an Indian (asia) wedding).

"Sailing" by Cristopher Cross is a great song about hope and future but not really relationship oriented specifically.

"Unforgettable" by N.K. Cole - not too "fun" though.

Although I cannot remember all the lyrics right now, but maybe "Light my Fire" either the Doors version or the acoustic guitar Feliciano version?

Man, why can I not think of more right now!?

    SB

What about some of those sentimental (but cheesy) C&W songs like by Garth or such?

Whip It - by those dudes in red lego hats.

That'll seem much more appropriate a few months after the wedding date, though :p
