Hi..I am a newbie for domain. I have some unclear problem and may be you all can help me .
1.If I buy a new domain which already have a PR and I plan to make a blogging site with my new domain, how is the process ? I never had a domain before , usually I blog at blogspot.
    2. If I had done with domain and I make a few blogs , can the PR of the domain which I already buy it would be down ?
    3. What is BIN ?
    Thank you very much.

    1. If you buy a domain with previous PR, make sure that the topic you are going to use on the site is *similar.* You will lose PR if not.

    2. Don't get it. Read above.

    3. BIN = Buy It Now. Normally this is used when people are selling something in an auction and they say BIN is $100 which means just buy it at $100 and the bidding is over.

    Goodluck.

I don't think similar content matters as much as far as retaining PR is concerned, what matters more is whether the current backlinks a domain has stay there or not. Also, be sure to check for fake pagerank before buying a domain name based on its pagerank.

Uhhh "relevant backlinks" are what is preached in SEO all the time. If you buy a sports domain and build a health blog there are no more relevant links if the previous PR came from sports blogs.

I think you are right there. Pagerank is your ranking compared to "related" websites. That's why it's easier for some websites to get PR while it's harder for others. You might still have PR if you change the subject but it may not be as high.

Yes, relevant backlinks are good for SERP rankings but for pagerank it doesn't really matter whether the link is relevant or not, it passes pagerank all the same as longs as the linking website is not under some penatly and is capable of passing pagerank.
