    There are LOTS of domains available with 5 or 6 letters in .com.

    Well yes, there would be many. You should atleast mention your niche or Keywords that you are interested in. There are domain search tools available for that.

    How much would be your niche? Also I think you can just reg yourself? A lot of 5-6 letters are still available :)

    there so much 6L.com domain still available , but if you try to find one word dictionary, that's can be very hard work :)
