Need a database? How would this be done?

    Hey guys.

I need a database created for my website. It is a database that members once logged in can edit the stats and figures of things. It's for a forum posting service so writers can edit how many posts they've added to a forum. How would this be done?

    Cheers, Ben Reeves.

you will probably need an experienced developer to work on this. I can't give a definite answer as the details are a bit vague.

For example, the developer would need to know the functions that needs to be added (specific details on what you want to change)
what language your forums is coded
what is the database you are using

before he/she can give a definite quote on what software you need (if there exist any) or how long it will take to finish the task or give you an estimate on how much the task/s will cost

It basically needs to looks like this:

    FORUM NAME: EXAMPLE.COM

    POSTS MADE: 50/250

    THREADS MADE: 10/10

and then the database needs to keep a record of who had done the posts etc.

if it something relatively that simple then it might only cost you around $150 to $300 depending on the final specifications (do you need to have an "add/edit/delete user" function, do you need an import or reporting functions, how easy should the forms be (meaning add ajax features, etc)

try odesk (on my sig) and try to post the project there (fixed price) and I believe you will receive some decent response

why don't you just use a forum service such as phpbb or php fusion and hook it up to a blank database provided by your hosting provider. all you'll have to do is follow the directions in the readme so you can set up your forum with no technical knowledge

Thank you for the in-put guys :) PixelBatch, how complicated would that be? Would it take a fairly long time and an experience PHPBB3 coder to do it? The thing I am looking for is ALOT like ContentCurrent, here's a Printscreen:

    Hi Ben,

I think Pixelbatch assumed you are looking to setup a forum and not a tracking software for your forum posting jobs.

I thought that your tasks will be something like this and my initial estimate is the same (please don't assume I am bidding on the job as I am booked for 1 or 2 months, I am just trying to point you to the right direction)
