Hi y'all, After scouring the internet for writers and journalists, I usually land up on DP posting an ad every two months. So here it is: The Job: Maintaining my movie blog. Writing interesting articles about movies, celebrities, events etc. The opinion has to be personal so I will prefer someone who sees a lot of Hindi movies and analyses them critically. About 5 articles are needed a week. The Person who might fit well: If you're a movie fanatic who is absolutely hooked to Bollywood (which is a takeoff of Hollywood in India), you might want to read more cuz that's the guy I'm looking for. AND You can write exceptionally well. All you do is write. No ifs, no buts. You are absolutely passionate about writing. Period. Anyone can write - we are taught this is school. But this is like saying that anyone can cook. But not everyone can cook a delectable 5 course meal with appetizers and dessert everyday. A meal that leaves everyone who tastes it completely happy and satisfied. Similarly, not everyone can write well. You need to have a few years of experience and loads of knowledge to be able to do so. Remuneration: Ah. "If you gotta eat good food, you gotta pay well." So don't worry about the dough. The working rate starts from 1$/100 words and ends at 3$/100 words. If you can prove your mettle over a couple of months, you can expect 3$/100 words plus performance bonuses. You make us money, we pay you back a percentage of the profits. That simple. Note: Please guys, don't waste my time and yours by sending me PMs if you are inexperienced and have never written about movies before. I won't answer them and you will have wasted a few minutes. I have been a writer all my life so I know the job through and through. So basically, you have to live and breathe Bollywood and its Hindi movies, celebrities, scoops and scandals and you have to have the skill to craft. Also read this : http://www.bollykings.com/about/
Also, needless to say I am only looking for samples related to bollywood, hindi movies, hindi songs, etc only. Guys sending me with random niches and bullshit copy paste sales pitch will all be ignored. I want to work with human being not human machines.
no qualification. But I need a dedicated writer and I mean a writer! We have the money but we don't have the work force to cope up with the rising traffic. We are really looking for people so that 10-15 articles are added daily on our blogs.
Hi Pro.seods! Nice to see you here again. Been a long time since you actively posted on here. Anyways, I went over to your site and it looks real good. Congratz (also checked Rajeev Masand's blog on the side ). Hope you have great success with it. Honestly, I have been an informal movie critic all my life. I have written only like ... 2-3 reviews till date, but I have always found myself discussing and analyzing the movies (sometimes even before I saw them LOL), so I was tempted to apply to this. Let me know if you'd like me to write a guest post/article or something. I would surely like to try my hand on this stuff... not sure I would be able to take this up on a long term basis but who knows. Just punch me a PM, if you like the idea. Till then, good luck. Bollywood rocks!!
Hey, I am assuming that this might turn up to be a bit lengthy so please stick till the end. I am from India and I am a software engineer. I never wanted to be a software engineer but because I didn't had the guts to think out of the box so I was forced to get in B.Tech. It was somewhere in October 2006 when I started my first blog on blogspot and since the the journey has been amazing. It took a year of blogging on blogspot before I could register www.nofullstop.com. My first 100 subscribers of this tech blog were the result of DP itself so I owe this forum a lot. I have met all my freelance writing clients on this forum itself. In over 4 years of writing I have done it all to earn those tit bits of money. I inspired my dad to start a blog (www.bellthebull.com) and today his blog is harnessing more profit than mine. The reason is simple, he is a full time blogger and I am a software engineer by profession. I have written articles on breast cancer, travelling, diamonds, blogging tips and technology of course. I agree that I haven't written for bollywood ever but I know that I do analyze movies a lot. I love SRK because of his smart marketing skills, I love AK for his perfection and I love Salman (which happens to be my name too) for the don't-give-a-damn attitude. Salman might not be the best but he knows how to pull crowds without ever giving a smooch on screen though most of the Bollywood babes (Kat/Ash etc) have been tried, tested and approved OK from Salman itself. You will have plenty of reasons to "appreciate me but say no due to lack of experience" and you might have just one reason to give me a shot. You don't lose anything if I work for you. $1/100 words is surely nothing for you Why am I interested? Firstly, I have done so much of writing that I have crossed that stage of earning more money by writing like a machine. I have seen those days where I used to write 20 articles a day but that was more or less like spinning the mix of wikipedia and few more websites. I am a software engineer, a writer and a passionate photographer. I know how to create website, understand already written code, optimize the looks of websites etc. I am at a stage where I get the returns for what I am doing and I enjoy what I am doing. Bollywood runs in the nerves of Indians and I am no exception. I might not be well aware with the complex histories of Bollywood but Internet has always been available for my rescue. Secondly, I need to write for a website that pays me more than dollar one. I am ready to charge $1 per 100 words for the first 2-3 months so that both of us are satisfied with each other. Once we are through then I am very keen to touch $3/100 words which will help me generate decent income by writing less and quality content. Even I don't want to be a machine. It is your call. Spend few bucks and test me otherwise wait for someone whom you think will be a better option. ~Salman
