Yes I made mistakes, so all the writers here're some tips from me after getting scammed for $155.... At first, do not ever deal with a guy "Ricky Smith" on DP, because he's a scammer! Do check the iTrader, before making any deal! Always get some upfront payment, and if the buyer is not responding, stop work right away! Do keep an eye on the threads buyer posts or replies......because this was my biggest mistake of all that I didn't follow up this thread, else I'd have discovered this person earlier....... But some things happen for good.... if he won't have scammed me, no one on DP might have known what this guy actually does...... On getting no reply from him for last one week (while he was continuously logging on DP), I tried finding out about him..... Just on DP I read his scam history...... but I didn't stop...... He assigned me articles for a website actually, and it was a big website..... I contacted the owners and told them about the scam...... the guys were nice as they investigated the issue so quickly...... Alex took this task from them, got the work done by me and disappeared....... Hi Analyst, Glad that you can pick yourself up and convert that into a lesson. I think this guy has multiple usernames, personally I have not dealt with him myself before but I heard things about him and as you know, DP members are always watching out for each other so we will always drop hints in thread if we feel a content buyer is unreliable. some time ago, we have talked about Ballack or Charlie Harper, all made up names for a non-native. The point is not about him being a non-native but rather being that he is seriously scamming people. Hopefully, more people can follow in your footsteps to raise the red flags about unreliable content buyers (In essence, they are not content buyers... they are just scums looking for a quick buck.) Always check a person's itraders (though sometimes it might be inaccurate) or do a little history search to make sure you are writing for the right guy. Good luck!
