This is a very simple trick. If you have a wordpress blog log into your dashboard. Go to the rss section. I think it is on the reading link. And make sure all of your RSS feeds show as an excerpt.

Promote your RSS Feeds as free content. Then all your new posts will be posted on aother peoples blogs with only a few lines and a read more link at the bottom to your blog post.

Simple and easy tip or trick :)

And no more worry about people stealing your content via RSS Feeds :)

For me I could not find the RSS settings on my dashboard, hmmmm.

I actually use the WP-Padlock system that locks up my admin area, so people can't steal my content. I am also implementing a "no right click" code to prevent copy and paste

I also use wordpress through blogger but was unable to find the RSS feed - I have no blogs in my reading list so that may be one of the reasons.

So what should I do now

I have been doing this for a while. I am hoping now that I'm a website grader that they will link back to me once I grade their site. I try to use all different ways to get backlinks. But your way definitely does work. I have been doing it for years.

This move also has negative effects though. Many people like to read blogs through rss feeds and won't subscribe to feeds that don't offer full text. Also, the links you get back from sites that want the content are most likely going to be useless because they will mostly be from scrapper sites.

Right Click prevention scripts are useless. It is very simple and easy for anyone who wants to get the content off your pages to do it. Reminds me of the old cliche' "When they outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns". The people who want to take your content know how to do it. It's really simple.

I thought just the very nature of having an RSS feed was to be picked up by others...where is the "trick" in the obvious ? Is there a certain service or website or something, that you can "Promote it as free content" ?

    I don't get it.

For those people who cannot find the feed section in wordpress.

    It is found here :-

Wordpress admin dashboard ---> Settings ----> Reading

Find the area where it says :-

    Then select Summary

    Job Done!

Yep, this also works great if you want to put your rss feeds on Squidoo Lenses, HubPages, Blogger Blogs, WordPress.com blogs, etc., that you build to point links back to your site.

Then people have to click the link to read the rest of the story!
