    My entry is also ranking within 20 (it was even ranking above the ajaxle.com subdomains in between :D :D

    Mind it, it was without doing much seo.

    My inference for the ranking of ajaxle.com subdomains is ..
    Give maximum links to first subdomain, lesser to second, even lesser to third and so on. 'Five SEO Excuses' is not so competitve term, so sites having even lesser links got listed, the ranking is controlled by calculated use of backlinks. :)
