    Hello there,

So I'm hiring programmers to build some script for me and I want to make sure they won't use it for themselves and won't sell it anyone else etc..

So I saw people are signing some NDA..

Can anyone please enlighten me on that?

How much legal power does this thing have and do I really have go to a lawer every time i need one, or can just use some ready form etc..

    thanks a lot :)

I know there are a lot of contract on RentACoder.com , usually for projects where large amounts of cash are involved.

I'm not sure how legally binding those agreements are.

As a programmer, I respect the NDA's but sometimes I reuse modules or functions on other projects. I never sell the complete source code (or the source code with minor changes) to another person.

Sorry for not beeing able to help you more, I've contracted work but never had to resort to nda's.

It's pretty much just scare tactics. If your Asian coder re-sells it, seriously, what are you going to do? Can you even be bothered to sue them in their own country or in yours? Or wherever is legally necessary?

Try and let them code something that isn't finished, then finish it into a usable bit of work yourself. Of break one project up in 2 modules so 2 people get to code half. Each half being worthless without the other. That's the best tactic.

Or only get it done by someone you trust 100%.

You cannot stop your programmer to use if for himself.NDA holds very less power. IMO

    thanks everyone for replies :)

yeah, on most part I agree, I'm not going to sue the poor Indian programmer for just selling someone a small modified copy, but I want to have the legal power to do it, right, mostly to scare and also, which is not less important, make the person think it would be very unfair and immoral..

Anyways.. as the original question was, where can I find some simple agreement like this? I saw quite a lot of people do it in some freelance sites, so I kinda wanted to know how they do it..

    Here's a nondisclosure agreement. There's a free one here.
