Hi , I was not sure if this was the correct forum to post this in but this is the only forum i like. This is whats happend i went 3p overdrawn and now natwest are saying they want £900, I moved house so all the letters they was sending me went to the wrong address, I have told natwest there is no way on this earth i am paying £900 for a 3p debt. I do not even have an overdraft, I have never agreed to anything like this, Its just an account i use for buying things online its not my main bank. What do i do from here? Can they really get away with charging me that much? They have had my phone number they could have called anytime but they didnt they just kept charging me £6 per day.Thery have now passed it on to debt collectors and they are adding on more fee's but the thing is i have never spoke to these debt collection companies how can they charge me when i have never signed anything with them?I am prepared to go to court over this i do not think they should be allowed to charge this much i could understand a small fee such as £5 / £10 but £900 for a 3p debt just sounds illegal. If the money was not in my account to pay for the goods i bought it should have declined, I feel like they are just trying to take me for a fool, If i went to court would i have to pay £900?
I think you should get advice from a Solicitor, most will give you 30mins for free to find out if you have a case or not. It seems a lot of money they want, I too would not pay iy. Good luck.
