I'm just curious. Who or what started SEO? I think 5 years ago, people are as not as active in Internet marketing compared today.

SEO started because of the growing and fast changing of technology. As the need arises, tools and application are also improving.

 

Thanks everyone for responding. Indeed it's competition that brought SEO to life. It's funny how search engines dictate people. I wonder what's after SEO? I'm afraid it will be hard for people to find what exactly they want or need due to SEO.

Yeah its definatly used alot more than when I first started about 8 years ago, an there is alot of growth still left many companies still dont have a clue about SEO or many other internet marketing methods.
