Hi all, There is always a lot of discussion regarding dofollow forums and blogs and how to find them, however just by targeting dofollow sites does this not immediatly tell google that you have an un natural link portfolio if 75% of forums are no follow and 98% of your link placements are on dofollow sites? Thoughts?
Personally, I think that people who are afraid of having an unnatural link profile (by only having do follow links) are just paranoid. I'd be surprised if Google cares whether all of your links are do follow and would be interested to read any solid evidence to the contrary.
Eh - I think all things in moderation. don't go build 1000 of the same link in a day And don't go overboard with one strategy Diversify - take time.
If you are in this for the long-term benefits, I would definitely work on creating a natural link profile. Even if you have a unnatural profile, you might not be seeing a penalty now, but you should consider what the major search engines might be doing with the algorithms two years from now. What if that unnatural link profile you created gets you completely tossed out of the index? A perfect example of this was the recent Google local changes that resulted in tons of businesses getting their listings removed for having geo-modifiers in their categories. It worked great, and then all of a sudden Google decided that it wasn't going to fly. Just because it's working now, doesn't mean it'll work in the future.
