I heard this on the radio some day ago.
Apparently, Jesus' death was completely planned and Judas was asked to betray him because by doing so "Jesus would be able to reach the heavens".

It’s on the news, national geographic channel, Odisseia channel and who know were else. From what I can gather they say it’s a new gospel “the gospel of Judas “ and that he was Jesus’ favourite disciple. Take it from someone that actually reads the Bible, don’t believe everything you see on TV. From what I’ve seen until now the scriptures are in very bad state and getting anything from them will be

This is not a new information. There was always evidence that there were many versions of gospel but it was about 300 AD that official church decided how the present bible should look like and then tried to destroy all other venisons. What is new is the fact that they always thought gospel of Judas has been destroyed but now they have found a copy.

Well they had that program about Judas on the National Geographic channel and this time I tried to pay more attention “Impossible because my Daughter just wanted to play” and from what experts do say it seems to be authentic. Concerning that story about choosing which books went into the bible I think it was more of a myth than anything else, but I will look into it that just to be sure.
