    This is specifically chosen for:
bogart, homebiz, mia, browntown - the anti-Russian mouthpeaces here.

You know these are the guys that say all the time Russia has no technologies that are better than the ones US have.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (Reuters) - A political stalemate that threatened to boot the United States off the International Space Station eased on Thursday after U.S. lawmakers passed an exemption allowing NASA to buy rides from the Russians, agency officials said.................

The Soyuz capsules are the only available vehicles capable of ferrying people to and from the station aside from the U.S. space shuttles, which are being retired in two years. Soyuz capsules also serve as the space station's lifeboats.

    .........

This is really a bitter pill for the cons .... LOL

I wonder how would NASA/US like it if Russia played it dirty as US has with her and just deny them the rides to the international space station?

Russia has more than $500 bln surplus unlike US and can easily do it, but they won't since they want good relationships with everyone.

Well, truth be told: Russians have alot of tech that is much more advanced than anything US has. Their missile tech is best in the world, second to none. Their nuclear arsenal is same. They have the best anti air systems in the world, S-400 series that guards moscow. Cruise missiles that are much more advanced than anything on the US side.

Those are only few things that comes to mind right away.

No wonder bogart, homebiz, mia, browntown are nowhere to be found LOL. That is just a silent recognition that the negative stuff about the Russian high tech they say is not true. LOL

The american space program is in trouble. They simply don't have the money to fund it, Which is a shame. Over the next 20 years space will be dominated by either europe or china. When russian eventually join the EU we will pool our money and expertise and go full throttle into space.

I might have a bet at the bookies that the first man to walk on mars will be a member of the eu.

to be honest, with the tension at the moment, i can't see the russians wanting to do anything to make any provocations. Still, there's always got to be a leader in a race

Russia has way more than this still. There is much more going on behind the scenes that is unknown, Russian capabilities and intelligence. Because of this, they will be a major force in breaking up the wretched evils of this world.

Yes, congrats to them, although some equipment was russian made.

As to the topic's title, I dont think Russia will be in confrontation due to political reasons. Putin already said that Russia will do business with all countries. And Medvedev said that at the time when USSR was isolated from the rest of the world they still were in business. So, now its unlikely to happen.

Further down: US House of Representatives approves Nasa buying Russian spacecraft:
